Forty new jobs have been announced at companies in Dublin and Sligo this morning.
Salad chain Chopped is opening a new outlet in Rathmines where 20 new positions are being created.
Co-founder and managing director of Chopped Brian Lee said: “We’re delighted to be opening our newest Chopped in Rathmines. It’s a great location in the heart of Rathmines and will serve as yet another proof point of the demand for healthy food in Ireland.
“This new Chopped will serve everyone in Rathmines, from people commuting to work, to soldiers in the nearby army barracks to students in the neighbouring school.”
While in county Sligo - Connollys Mercedes-Benz is investing €4.5m in a new dealership in Collooney – that is set to open this September.
The new jobs will increase the number of full-time employees at the Connolly Motor Group to 183. The company will begin recruitment immediately.
The group, which is run by brothers Kevin and Neil Connolly, is one of the biggest motor groups in the country. It already has Audi and Volkswagen dealerships in Sligo and Ballina as well as the Audi dealership in Galway.
Located to service customers across the North West, the opening of the new dealership in Sligo will extend the number of Mercedes-Benz main dealers nationwide to 14.
Neil Connolly said: “We are delighted to be appointed to represent a brand such as Mercedes-Benz. The creation of another 20 new full-time jobs in Sligo is a source of pride for Kevin and I as we expand the Connolly Motor Group in the North West.”
